So, it’s birthday season in our house again. From August to October, I have one birthday boy a month and I have the most fun planning their parties! I have another post coming soon about how to plan a successful birthday party that is fun, but NOT chaotic! The first step is planning out engaging activities. So, after I do my favorite part (brainstorming and planning decor and favors), I look into what activities will go with our theme and are age appropriate.
For my middle son’s 6th birthday in August, he opted for a pirate themed pool party. It was completely his idea, but he wants kids to “walk the plank” on the pool diving board! I prefer pirate themes that aren’t quite so scary, so I specifically looked for items that are more kid friendly. My best finds were by far on the Birthday Express website. Those were my favorite decorations and favor ideas at first glance through all the reasonably priced websites. I did find a couple of good activities and toys to give the kids something extra to do in the pool. My son was very excited about diving for treasure in the pool and riding on a shark. Here are a couple of rafts that he liked on Amazon as well: (Don’t forget these are affiliate links. See my affiliates policy here.
